Angus Council and the Tartan Day Team aim to provide you with a first class experience at a competitive price. Our intention is to exceed your expectations and ensure you enjoy a memorable visit to Scotland.

Price

The prices quoted include VAT at the current rate. The Tartan Day International Golf Challenge package includes the following;

  • All transport (excluding flights)
  • Seven nights bed and breakfast in luxury accommodation 
  • Four rounds of golf over some of the best courses in the world – Montrose, Gleneagles, Carnoustie and St Andrews Old Course. An optional extra round of golf can be enjoyed on the Strathtyrum Golf Course in St Andrews on Thursday, 5 April at no extra charge, although this round does not constitute part of the tournament.
  • Lunch and refreshments each golfing day
  • Dinner each evening, except Saturday (arrival day) and Thursday (free time in St Andrews)
  • Tour of Edinburgh City and Castle
  • Gala Reception and Grand Banquet at Glamis Castle
  • A Taste of Scotland Dinner and Ceilidh
  • A Taste of Whisky Dinner
  • Tartan Day Exhibition and Fashion Show
  • Welcome to the Kingdom of Fife Drinks Reception
  • Prize Giving Gala Awards Dinner (including kilt hire)
  • Commemorative Photograph

Travel Arrangements

The Tartan Day International Golf Challenge package does not include flights. We recommend you fly into Edinburgh as the first night's accommodation is at the Macdonald Roxburghe Hotel in Edinburgh.

Transfers from Edinburgh Airport to the Macdonald Roxburghe Hotel will be available at scheduled times on Saturday, 31 March 2012 (times to be advised). Please note, customers whose arrival times do not allow them to connect with the Tartan Day Hotel Transfer should make their own way to the Macdonald Roxburghe Hotel (approx. 20 minutes by taxi).

Scheduled transfers will also be available from St Andrews Old Course Hotel to Edinburgh Airport on Saturday, 7 April 2012 (times to be advised). Please note the Tartan Day Team can arrange transportation (to be paid for by the customer) for any guests who do not wish to use the scheduled Tartan Day transfers.

Deposits and Payment Information

In order to secure a place on the Tartan Day International Golf Challenge 2012, a 50% deposit must be paid, please see below;

  • A non-refundable 10% deposit is required to be paid at the time of booking in order to secure a place on the Tartan Day International Golf Challenge.
  • The deposit balance (an additional 40%) is to be paid by 31 December 2011. In the event of a cancellation, any outstanding deposit must be paid in full.
  • The 50% balance payment is due to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure (17 February 2012).

Angus Council's travel partner, Scotia Travel will contact you to confirm your booking and issue an invoice for payment. NB: There will be a 2% surcharge for credit card payments.

Early Booking Discounts
These discounts are subject to availability and are only applicable to certain dates.

Cancellations, Amendments and Refunds Policy

All cancellations and amendments to your booking are subject to the conditions set out below.

  • Cancellation of the booking before the 30 November 2011 will result in a cancellation fee of 10%.
  • Cancellation of the booking between the 30 November and the 31 December 2011 will result in a cancellation fee of 50%.
  • Cancellation of the booking between 31 December 2011 and 17 February 2012 will result in a cancellation fee of 75%.
  • Cancellation of the booking after the 17 February 2012 will result in a cancellation fee of 100%.
  • Any deposits paid will be used towards cancellation fees, to the extent incurred, as outlined above.
  • Where any amendment to a booking reduces the total number of rounds of golf or nights accommodation required, refunds will be at the discretion of Angus Council. If a valid amendment to the full Tartan Day International Golf Challenge package is requested before the 17 February 2012, Angus Council will endeavour to cancel any relevant golf or accommodation bookings and obtain a refund, and if successful will pass the appropriate refund on to the customer, less a £50 administration fee. You will not be entitled to a refund if you amend your package after the 17 February 2012.

Changes and cancellations made by us:

Occasionally, Angus Council has to make changes to the package both before and after bookings have been confirmed. We reserve the right to do this and to amend and cancel confirmed bookings. If we have to make a significant change, i.e. a change of accommodation, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Customer Information Requirements

To ensure your experience of the Tartan Day International Golf Challenge is as smooth as possible we require certain pre-arrival information, by the 17 February 2012 (6 weeks before the start of the tournament), see below;
