Dundee, the City of Discovery set on the banks of the River Tay is the jewel of North East of Scotland.

Dundee Contemporary Arts, visited by over 300,000 annually has attracted exhibitions by many of most important artists of the day. Dundee boasts the Caird Hall, one of the finest concert venues in Scotland and the Dundee Rep Theatre.

The city has some of the world's premier golf leisure destinations such as the Old Course at St Andrews and Carnoustie on its doorstep.

Description: The Archives will accept visits without appointments and staff will come to the 18 City Square access point for those with mobility problems or to answer quick enquiries.

Title: Dundee Family History Centre Open Day
Date and time: Tuesday 6 April at 10am
Venue: Central Library, The Wellgate, Dundee, DD1 1DB
Description: Burials Administration staff and the Tay Valley Family History Society are on hand to assist- with your family search. The Registrar's/Burial Administration charges are £22 per hour. An appointment is necessary but enquiries can be accepted in advance to save time on the day. Or you can do it yourself in Local History on Scotland's People using pre-paid vouchers (prices vary).

Title: Homeland Preview For Pictish Blockbuster Movie
Date and time: Saturday 10th April, 8.30pm
Venue: Dundee Contemporary Arts, Dundee
Description: Pictavia Visitor Centre is proud to be hosting a special preview screening of Centurion, the new blockbuster from Dog Soldiers director Neil Marshall. Set in Roman Britain circa AD 117, the film follows the legendary Ninth Legion as they battle for survival in Pictish territory. Come and celebrate Angus' Pictish heritage at this exciting event, which will also feature real-life Romans and a Q&A session on Centurion and life in Roman Britain.
